I have a distinct memory of losing a tooth and finding a pound under my pillow the next morning. I spent the pound at the book fair — or I think back then we just ordered books from one of those thin, flimsy paper catalogues. I got one of those books that came with a floppy mirror that you’d hold up to various images in the book… I loved it.
My in-laws were in town yesterday and went to school with the kids for Grandparents Day (or as the school calls it “Grandparents and Special Friends Day,” but I think that sounds impossibly creepy). There, they were persuaded to spend several thousand dollars at the Book Fair. Many books were purchased… Some were even good. And this. Bennett said it was a nose picker. Someone chimed in, “and a butt scratcher.”
Charming.
